Vadnais Heights Lions Club
Organized in 1981, the Vadnais Heights Lions Club is part of a large international organization that focuses on international programs for sight and hearing. Lions International has extensive seeing eye and hearing dog programs.
The local district to which Vadnais Heights Lions Club belongs has made major contributions to the Lion's Eye Bank and Hearing Center, located at the University of Minnesota.
In addition to supporting the mission of the International and District Lions Club, the Vadnais Heights Lions provides several community programs, including a monthly food program for needy families. The food program is held on the second Saturday of each month at Christ the Servant Church, 3676 Centerville Road.
The Vadnais Heights Lions conducts an annual pancake breakfast and also assists with the City's Taste of Vadnais, Heritage Days, and other community events. The club helps out individuals in need, ranging from someone unable to afford new reading glasses to someone needing a handicapped ramp in their home. The Lions also have donated to several city projects, including park improvements, purchases of EMT response vehicles and other equipment for the City's public safety departments.
